Parent’s once again thank you for releasing your young people to us for this outreach. This team is blowing us away as staff with their attitude of openness and allowing God to have His way in their lives. There is a hungering and thirsting after Jesus that is building and they are learning to not just see situations and circumstances through their own eyes. The Colorado kids are settling in very well into the new surroundings and there are some neat relationships being built within the team. The team looks forward to every part of our schedule, whether its worship, dance practice, work duties, meal times (Of course), or just time spent alone with the Father. One thing for sure is that they have a lot of energy and leading this team of young leader’s is not for the faint of heart.
Kathleen has been teaching on Genesis and has come to the story of Joseph. There are many of our young people that can relate to Joseph and the trials he went through. Issues of abandonment, mistrust, deceit, being falsely accused, hope deferred, and the list goes on but they are also seeing that God allowed these things to happen because He had a plan for Joseph’s life. The path that God had marked for Joseph led to Joseph being a deliverer for his own people and also saw Joseph as one of the most powerful men on earth regarding authority. This is the same anointing we believe God has for this generation of young people. It really is an exciting time to see revelation revealed to this group of young people. It’s like light bulbs turning on when you look into their eyes. What an awesome privilege!
After dance practice the young men were taken to Max and Gidget Buntrok’s house to split wood. They spent most of their free time doing that and were able to get to know Max a little more. After breaking a wood maul and a sledge hammer for the wedge we were using we decided to call it quits and head back home. After showers and a hearty dinner, the team met once again for an evening teaching session with Kathleen. We’re not sure if we missed jet lag somewhere along the line but it seems that it’s started to catch up with some of us. Keep us in your prayers as we can’t believe it’s been a week already! I guess time flies when you’re having fun!!!
